Clubbing in Bangkok
Insanity
This club used to be located Sukhumvit soi 12, but was recently relocated soi 11.
The DJs there mainly play EDM music which can be in my opinion slightly irritating, but which seems to be enjoyed by the locals…females.
The males are mainly foreigners coming from Asia and there is also a minority of westerners. We can bet that the reason for all these men from different culture to meet up in this disco is not for the music…but for the local girls who go there looking for someone willing to sponsor their night. Girls are rather in their twenties there and are slightly cheaper (check our article about prices demanded by girls here) than in other places listed in this blog.
Most nights there is an entry fee of about 300 bahts including one drink and most of the other drinks you would take after would cost you about 200 baht.
Useful tip: Bring some earplugs!
Location: Sukhumvit Soi 11, Bangkok 10110

Mixx
This disco located at the ground floor of the Intercontinental Hotel attracts lots of girls, but the vast majority are professional prostitutes.
The club is divided into two rooms, one where the music played is quite generalist and which contain mostly local girls, and the second room where older tunes are played where you can find girls from various area of the globe. They all have a common goal: getting as much cash as possible from your pocket!
These girls have acquired real skills and experience in the business, including negotiation skills, therefore we highly recommend that you do not immediately say yes to whatever amount they ask from you. Don’t be a fool and negotiate!
Useful tip: Before 1 am, they have a “buy one get one free” policy – we are talking about drinks of course.
Location: President Tower, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok, 10330

Levels
This club is within the A-Loft Hotel on Sukhumvit soi 11.
Its convenient location drags a lot of westerners looking for a fun night as well as whoremongers wishing to find company for the night.
The girls there are a mix of real pros and occasional freelancers wishing to get a bit of extra money.
Music is quite generalist most days but they also organize special hip-hop or deep house nights.
Useful tip: Sundays are "Girls'night" so for those wishing to discover the local products who unfortunately were not in Bangkok on Fridays or Saturdays, this is the place to go on Sundays.
Location: A Loft Hotel, Sukhumvit 11, Klong Toey, Bangkok 10110

Sugar Club
Also located in the busy Sukhumvit soi 11, this late night club is for hip hop fans.
You will probably feel like you are in the middle of Chicago while being in this club due to its crowd topped with a fair bunch of Asian hookers. Once again, for those who love black music, this is the place.
There is usually an entry fee of 300 baht including one drink.
Useful tip: Do not go there before 2am otherwise, you might be end up feeling like a lonely hunter…

Route 66 (RCA)
Once the best club in town, this place is now only nothing more than the shadow of itself.
The customers there are a mix of foreign men and local women coming to enjoy amongst their group of friends. The music played is mostly hip hop.
You can decide to either take a table outside, drinking a cold beer and watching the group of people who came to party as well, or face the cauldron of the packed crowd inside.
There is also an entry fee on week ends for foreigners only (!) of around 300 bahts which can be exchanged inside for drinks.
Useful tip: Go there only if you are a group of three or four friends minimum otherwise it might be difficult to have fun since the groups of locals are more difficult to approach than in any other place listed here.
Location: 29/33 - 48 Royal City Avenue Building, Soi Soonvijai, Rama 9 Rd., Bangkapi, Huay Kwang, Bangkok 10310

Sing Sing
Rather a high end club with a nice decoration created by a famous designer. The crowd is mixed but you will need to be properly dressed to go there as the bouncer may deny you the entry to the club.
There is no cover charge at the entrance but drinks are rather expensive for Bangkok at around 350 baht net for a whisky coke or a cocktail.
Music varies from one night to another but is usually quite generalist.
Useful tip: If you go there, ensure to go before midnight to maximize your chance to get a table, or simply call in advance to make a booking.

CÉ LA VI (formerly known as KU DÉ TA)
Located on the top of an office building, it attracts mostly a high end crowd, with many “wanna be” of Bangkok.
To get there you will need to access through the main lobby of the tower and take the elevators who will bring you to the 38th floor. From there, you will be able to admire the city glowing at night while listening to the latest tubes.
Price are quite high there too, with a regular drink around 350 baht. You can however be assured to see some of Thailand most beautiful ladies.
Useful tips: Get properly groomed before going there otherwise people will definitely look down on you.

Moustache Bar Bangkok
This a Belgian bar where people enjoy imported and local beers on the ground floor when night falls in an Art Deco atmosphere, however, the mood changes completely after midnight to become a secret party place…until early in the morning.
The second floor is a big open area where you can either dance, or sit with your friends and enjoy several drinks and cocktails.
Music is quite chill before midnight but becomes Techno later during the night.
Price are rather cheap during the first half of the night and then become like most other places after the clock struck twelve.
Useful tip: The place is quite hard to find, so when you are on Ratchada soi 7, stop at the massage called Colonze 2, it is just opposite.

Late night discos
EQ late night club
In the legendary venue of the former “Nana Disco”, you can now find “EQ” trying to bring back a quality late night club. Packing a vibrant mix of Thai honeys, local expats, and tourists this newly refurbished club is a must for late revelers in Nana.
Their concept is simple: trying to get as many girls as possible from the opposite “Nana Entertainment” whenever they finish working in the bars and/or have not been successful to find a customer for the night. So it often gets packed with girls after the bars in the street have closed.
Drinks are moderately priced, but there is usually an entrée fee of about 300 baht which includes a drink.
Useful tip: Do not bother going there before 2:30 am because you might feel very lonely
Phone: 064-129-7053
Opening hour: 11 pm - late
Swing
If you want to continue playing up in Bangkok after hours, Swing Nightclub is still a good option to continue dancing until the morning. They recently moved to a new area but it remains as underground as the previous location.
It is now located in what was a disused hotel, and therefore while it looks a bit creepy, and it represents really what Bangkok’s nightlife use to be until a few years ago…
There is a good mix of tourists / expats / locals, all united to the wish to have a late night in an unusual place. Price wise it is roughly similar to any other late night place with a single drink around 200 baht.
Useful tip: Police does some unexpected check of this place from time to time so make sure you are clean.
Location: Tongpoon Hotel, 130 Soi 8 Rama 6 Road, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330
Shock 39 Club
This is a late night club for the most adventurous of you…or the most desperate!
In any case, if it is 2:00 am, that you could not find anything suitable to comfort you, and that you are still hungry (I am not referring to food), this is the place for you!
All of Bangkok dirtiest people end up to Shock 39 as they have more relaxed closing hours.
You can find anything you want over their, as long as you are willing to pay for it: girls, guys, transgenders! Anyone who is for sale and who yet have not found a sponsor for the night will end up in this club.
If you go there, we can assume that your focus is not on music but rather on girls, but just for your information, they play mainly house and techno, with a few hip hop charts as well.
Entrance fee is 300 baht but it includes two standard drinks such as beer or (cheap) whisky coke. Any additional drinks are about 150 baht.
Useful tips: If you plan to bring someone back home, remember that there is a distinctive possibility that your target has already been “visited” by someone else, therefore, you can negotiate well…
Opening hours: 10 pm – 5 am
Before's
Maggie Choo’s
This place is located below the Novotel Fenix Silom, and welcomes beautiful guest in a Shanghai 1930’s atmosphere. The chic décor was designed by a famous designer in Bangkok who has already several other night venues under his portfolio.
A large selection of cocktails and wines are available. This place is not cheap, but does really worth it. Guests are usually quite posh and many beautiful ladies enjoy being in this cozy bar. They have a mix of live music performers going from crooners, jazz band, or DJs.
Useful tip: There are some hidden vault doors with a smoking area behind.
Location: Novotel Bangkok Fenix Silom Hotel, 320 Silom Road
Opening Hours: 18:00 – 2:00

Spasso
Located within the Hotel Hyatt Erawan, this famous venue has been opened for two decades. It caters a slightly more mature crowd but do not be worried, plenty of young and attractive girls are there, potentially looking for a man of their dream…or a “sugar daddy”!
The entertainment at Spasso includes live performance from various groups playing popular songs and some short interludes by DJs.
This is an ideal place to start the night if you are willing to dress up a minimum and expand a bit of money. The place is not cheap, with a regular whisky coke at around 450 baht net and a bottle of Jack Daniels at 5,000 baht including soft drinks, nevertheless, like anywhere in the world if you wish to go to nice places, you will need to come with some deep pockets.
Useful tip: If you are in Bangkok for a few days, and enjoy the atmosphere at Spasso then taking a bottle ends up being much cheaper than having individual glasses.
Opening hours: 22:00 – 2:00
Above 11
This vibrant bar is one of the most popular rooftop bar of Bangkok. It offers a 180 degrees panorama of the city through its three floors.
It has a modern, yet informal, décor and is a very good place to either watch the sunset or to spend the night there. Food is a mix of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine, so if you are a ceviche or sushi amateur than this place is for you.
The mood of the place is joyful but relaxed at the same time, therefore it is a nice place to bring a date or come with a few good friends as the volume of the music is adequate (unlike many other similar places).
The cocktail selection is very wide, including several sake concoctions.
Overall, this is a good venue for the party people as it is nicely decorated, music is good, and it is very conveniently located into sukhumvit soi 11 with loads of other entertainment venues around. A good choice before going clubbing.
Useful tip: Go there early if you wish to have table, it gets packed very quickly.

Havana Social
This is a great bar…if you find it! Having for theme the prohibition, it is indeed a well hidden gem. This bar has everything to make you feel in the pre-revolution Cuban period: rum cocktails, apparent beams, crumbling plaster, well dressed waiters.
To access it, you will need to sneak into a very narrow sub-soi and find “El telephono” (an old phone booth) where you will need to enter the right digits to open a hidden door which will lead you to the bar. You will then get a Cuban blow with live band playing jazz on Fridays and Saturdays, followed by DJs playing funk and Cuban tunes.
Drinks go from 120 baht for a local beer to 300 baht for more sophisticated drinks.
The customers are a mix of foreign tourists and expats, with a bunch of local girls.
Useful tip: Make sure to have your GPS activated to find the place
Location: Sukhumvit Soi 11 (down a small soi opposite Fraser Suites Hotel)

Oskar Bistro
This Bar & French Bistro has become over the years an institution for Bangkok party people.
This duplex welcomes guests on two floors. You can drink or eat either on the ground floor or on the first floor, nevertheless, the ground floor is more oriented on the bar side and the upper floor on the restaurant side.
There are always DJs playing deep house music, and as the clock reach midnight the bar becomes more of a dance floor with loads of girls hunting for a generous sponsor for the night.
Useful tip: Have dinner upstairs, then go downstairs to drink and meet some sexy ladies.
Location: 24 Soi Sukhumvit 11

Interesting blog, it reminds me of Bangkok, at Night. Many of busiest night markets are located alongside the popular red-light district, such as the Silom Night market. I tried to write a blog about it, hope you also like it: https://stenote.blogspot.com/2020/10/bankok-at-night.html?m=1
