My Favorite Bangkok's Restaurants

My Favorite Bangkok's Restaurants

My recommendation of restaurants per country. Here they are:

Italian - Opus Wine bar

Fine dinning Italian restaurant located in Silom.
The up scale restaurant is located in a nice house with a classy decoration. While mixing with a nice crowd you can enjoy some Italian delicatessens such as cold cuts, prime beef cuts, pastas, etc.. The restaurant has also a large wine cellar allowing you to pick a wine from anywhere in the world.
Prices are rather high but it is really worth it.

French - Indigo

A typical French menu is proposed into this restaurant located in the Silom Area.
You can enjoy onions soup, Foie gras, Ribeye “Maitre d’hotel”, and so on.
The restaurant is within an Thai house, but while eating you can enjoy listening to some typical French songs therefore you feel the atmosphere is typically French.
They propose what we think is the best deal for lunch in Bangkok: a two course menu for 390 baht ++.
Dinning is also a good option especially if you want to impress your date and have dinner into their lovely garden. For dinner, prices should be around 1,500 baht net excluding wine.

Thai – Baan Khanitha

This institution was originally located in Sathorn area, but has over the years expended its operation to three others areas: Sukhumvit 23 and Charoen Krung Road.
These restaurants caters to both Foreign visitors and Thai celebrities. This is a very good option if you wish to discover the local food in a nice environment. Service is good and waiters can speak English, unlike many other Thai restaurants, which is truly helpful.
Please however make sure to specify to the waiters if you would prefer your food not to be too spicy, otherwise you may have a “hot” surprise…
Price are reasonable and should be about 600 baht net per head excluding alcohol.

Indian – Mrs. Balbir

Bangkok offers a wide selection of Indians restaurants due to its large Thai-Indian community, but we believe Mrs. Balbir is probably one of the best in town.
Food is excellent and not too greasy. You can pick amongst all typical Indian dishes such as Tikka Masala, Cottage cheese curry in spinaches, chicken tandoor, cheese nans and many other varieties from all over India.
Money wise, a dinner at Mrs. Balbir shall cost you around 800 baht per head.
The restaurant is in Nana Area, making easy for you to continue your night in Bangkok.

Japanese – Sui Kin

This hidden gem is the home of the best Japanese food in town.
The front of the restaurant, is modern Japanese style, and the inside mixes modern and classic Japanese decoration giving a particular atmosphere to the erea.
You can choose to either it at the counter bar, on a long table for a more social atmosphere since you will be seated next to other people, or on a small table where you can have a more confidential discussion with your friends.
Sui Kin propose cold Japanese cuisine such as Sashimi, sushi, or maki, but also some hot cuisine with Japanese hot pots, caramelized pork belly, and many other menus.
Price are very reasonable for a Japanese restaurant, and a dinner excluding Sake shall cost you around 800 baht net per head.
This restaurant is located in the Ploen Chit area.
